At long last summer is here and we look forward to providing
you with a full programme of events.
Firstly
though, we must say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the masked
ball. It was a wonderful evening with many stunning masks.
Congratulations go to Kerry Slingsby and Mark Alexander for winning
the best female and male mask competition.
Our
next Norwich freestyle event at the Assembly House on Saturday 17th
June promises to be a great evening. The Assembly House is always
a popular
venue and Natalie from Ceroc Central will be teaching a fun lesson.
Tickets are currently on sale at the desk at all our venues, or you
can pay at
the door on the night.
Thank
you for your patience during our recent Monday night relocations. We
return to Earlham High School on Monday 19th June.

THE
HOT WEATHER!
In the hot weather, and dancing as energetically as you all dance, it
is impossible (even for ladies!) not to sweat! Please, for the comfort
of those around you, ensure that you use deodorant and if necessary,
change your top during the evening.
CONGRATULATIONS
Karen & Gavin Hales were married on Saturday 6th May. Our very best wishes
go to the happy couple.
NEW
THURSDAY NIGHT IN NORWICH
Come along on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays and collect a ticket for
entry to our new Thursday nights at Pinebanks for only £3 for
the whole evening.
STAFF
NEWS
We are sad to say that Jayne has given up the Ceroc desk at Ipswich.
She was with us for 9 years and will be greatly missed by everyone.
We want to say a huge thank you to her for all her hard work over the
years and we send her our very best wishes for the future.
THURSDAYS
AT HOLT
We are at Holt on Thursday 15th and 22nd of June for Beginners and Intermediate
classes. Classes are at the slightly later time of 8pm-11pm and are
held at the Holt Community Centre, Kerridge Way, Holt, NR25 6DN. Freestyle
only is available from 10pm-11pm.
THANK YOU
Donations for Cynthia Farleigh’s charity helping disadvantaged
children, received at Nigel Olley’s party on Saturday 3rd June,
totalled £300. Nigel and Ceroc Anglia would like to thank everyone
who very kindly donated.
MAY BALL PHOTOS
Due to popular demand, photos of the May Ball will be available for sale
up to and including 29th June. A mounted 8x6 photo will cost £5.
Payment must be given to reception staff with your order, together with
your name, telephone number and venue collection details.
TAXI
DANCERS
We are always on the lookout for friendly people with a good grasp of
Ceroc dancing to join our team of taxi dancers in Norwich, Ipswich and
Beccles. If you think you might be interested please speak to a teacher
for more information & dates of taxi workshops.
BIG
DANCE WEEK
The England Arts Council are sponsoring a ‘Big Dance Week’ over
the whole of the country starting on Saturday 15th July culminating on Saturday
22nd July. We thought we would like to contribute, so we have arranged freestyles
at the beginning and end of the week, along with all our nightly classes.
IPSWICH
NEWS
We are actively seeking to provide a 2nd weekly night in the Ipswich area. Sarah,
together with Anna and Helen, went on a fact-finding tour of the area recently.
We are currently following up various possibilities and our aim is to provide
the 2nd night for you as soon as we can. The format will be the same as for
existing Thursday nights.
PARKING
AT MANOR BALLROOM, IPSWICH
If you have to block another car whilst parking at the Manor
Ballroom, could
you please give the registration number of the car that you’ve blocked
to reception staff, together with your name, so that we can easily contact you
should your car need to be moved. Many thanks in advance for your help with this
matter.
CEROCSHOPS
These are proving to be very popular so book early to avoid disappointment. A
new “Beginner Plus” workshop is now available, so if you are
feeling confident with beginner moves, but are not quite ready to move up
to Intermediate, then this is the workshop for you.
STYLE
TIP - FOLLOW MY LEADER
The reason that most instructions during the class are given from the man’s
point of view is that the man leads the dance! If the man follows the teacher’s
instructions accurately, the lady will automatically be in the right place at
the right time! This, therefore, requires that the lady relaxes and allows the
man to lead her!
